This time, the tool is not a total SEO tool, it is a wordpress plugin that i eventualy found after searching for a solution for my problem.

The problem was that I had a directory site, that gets traffic, i wanted to change it to a blog, so i choose wordpress as my blog.
what happened is that all my backlinks are not to the homepage, they are pointing to pages inside the site, so i had many 404 page not found errors and loose lot’s of traffic.

Usually what i do is add this line into .htaccess: ErrorDocument 404 /index.php this is the line that redirect all 404 errors to the index file of the site.
i don’t know why, but, in wordpress it does not work. i think its because of that wordpress use permalinks, so it writes rewrite rules into the .htaccess file, and that somehow interfere with the errordocument redirection.

eventually, today i found a Plugin for wordpress that fix this issue, you just install it in the wordpress Plugin directory, and can configure many aspects of wordpress redirection.
